A transdisciplinary, hands-on seminary where we will learn and make together with students from cultural anthropology, environmental studies, forestry, art history, and the liberal arts and sciences studies program at Freiburg University College. Co-taught by Laurie Young and me and ethnographically accompanied by Anna Lipphardt, we will explore the boundaries of life and death and the ethics and politics of gazing at more-than-human remains behind glass. Let's look for alternatives.
The course is part of the How to Not be A Stuffed Animal project, funded by the Volkswage Foundation. If you are a student at Freiburg University and want to take part, shoot an email to susanne-b-schmitt(at)web.de. The seminar is held i English and German.
